Democrats novel approach to hitting 4% unemployment

The unemployment rate dropped from 7% (Nov) to 6.7% (Dec). Good news?

NO.

The rate dropped .3% because 350,000 unemployed dropped off the radar in Dec. They were unemployed, their benefits ran out…now they’re no longer counted.

The normal way to reduce unemployment is to add jobs and get people back to work. Democrats led by Obama have developed a new way to reach 4% unemployment…

…just reduce the Labor Participation Rate (LBR).

If 350k drop out of the LBR each month over the next 9 months, by Obama standards (with a compliant media), they can hit 4% unemployment before November.

All they need do is NOT count the 3.15 million Americans who fall off the radar.

Pre-election (aided by a sycophant media) that’s good news for Democrats…

…but bad news for jobless Americans.

Joke of the day…

A rare bipartisan display in the House of Representatives provides the ‘joke of the day’.

HR 3811, the Health Exchange Security and Transparency Act, passed with 291 votes Friday; 67 of those votes came from Democrats.

The 1-sentence law requires that, if any O’care data breach occurs, Americans whose personal data is stolen gets notified by HHS Sec’y Sebelius within 2 days of discovery.

That’s the same Secretary who has exempted-waived-delayed-revised-ignored any sections of the Obamacare law that Obama feels doesn’t need to be taken seriously.

Considering laws already trampled, does anyone think this new law will be obeyed?

(Updated#3) The obvious solution for Jersey Governor Christie’s (R) image problem

Change the (R) to a (D)…the press will drop the issue in a heartbeat, and the Democrat legions will rejoice that one more hardball-playing politician has joined their ranks.

(Update#1) Word has it this solution is getting Hillary verrrrry nervous…

(Update#2) Inside sources suggest this was Christie’s intention all along. He saw the (D) was working for Obama with the Benghazi-IRS-NSA-whatever scandals, and a party change gets him the anti-Hillary/anti-GOP media storm-troopers in one fell swoop.

2016, here he comes.

(Update#3) A Democrat power-broker declares that, if Christie were a Democrat, this latest kerfuffle would actually give him enhanced ‘street cred’ in their Party.

‘Politics’ is just short-hand for Theater of the Absurd

Elected lawmakers break laws they made, then demand re-election to fix breakage.

It doesn’t get more bizarre than that. Think of it this way…

The gardener cut down your prize roses so he won’t have to water them. The mechanic installs a GPS system, but the work order you signed was for a tire rotation. You dozed as the hairdresser tinted blonde highlights, but awoke to flaming, iridescent orange hair.

They insist they be paid, and demand that you return for more of the same in the future.

Would you pay? Would you employ their services again?

Now apply those same principles to D. C. politicians, who make immigration laws, yet won’t enforce themthen have the gall to declare the immigration system broken.

They make healthcare laws and regulations that force compliance, then inflict a disaster of Obamacare on us because the health care system is (you guessed it) broken.

They implement government programs and policies that enrich their cronies but wreak havoc on everyone else, driving up the cost of living and unemployment rate, then…

…demand higher minimum wage levels and extended unemployment benefits, ‘cuz, as we all know by now, the economy is…well, you know…

…broken.

Recognize the pattern? We all do, yet the perpetrators keep getting re-elected.

Washington D.C. is a Through-the-Looking-Glass playground for the Make-Break-Fix antics of a political class who would be the envy of the Mad Hatter…

…and, we’re ALL Alice now…

The answer to how many STUPID politicians are on Capitol Hill…

Democrats pushing a federal minimum wage hike need some remedial math…

Obama likes the Senate version, hiking the minimum wage from $7.25/hr to $10.10/hr.

(He and his Democrat friends say it’s needed, to lift workers above poverty levels.)

A fulltime worker earning $7.25/hr earns $15,080 per year…but…

…Federal poverty level guidelines for a worker is set at $11, 490 per year.

(For the math-challenged dunces in D.C., that means the wage hike isn’t needed.)

The answer to ‘How many STUPID politicians are on Capitol Hill’…?

Just count those who vote for or advocate raising the minimum wage…

…’cuz the minimum wage actually has to be reduced to $5.52/hr to hit $11,489/yr!

The REAL question concerning executive authority should be…

Democrat senators couldn’t answer a Weekly Standard question about where the line is drawn on executive authority, when it comes to suspending parts of Obamacare law…

Headline: “Are There Any Parts of Obamacare the President Can’t Suspend?”

But with law-suspension precedents Obama has set, it’s not just about Obamacare.

The real question should be…

…based on his actions…are there parts of ANY law the President can’t suspend?

Hint to Democrat senators…the answer is in the U.S. Constitution

(…You know, Senator…that ‘thing’ you swore an oath to support and defend…, and …that ‘thing’ that created for you the very office and authority you hide behind…)

Specifically…

Art. II Sect. 3: “…(the President) shall take Care that the Laws be faithfully executed…”
Nothing in that Section refers to ‘faithfully suspended-waived-exempted-ignored…’

Questionable-bumper-sticker-of-the-year award

Headline: “Hillary PAC Announces ‘Ready For Hillary 2016’ Bumper Stickers”

BlueCollar suggests an anti-Hillary alternative…

‘Hillary WASN’T READY for Benghazi’

Those who consider sporting ‘Ready for Hillary 2016’ on their cars should remember those who can’t…because Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama weren’t ready…

…Glen Doherty, Tyrone Woods, Sean Smith, and Chris Stevens.

They died because Clinton and Obama weren’t ready, and should not be forgotten.

For those who missed it, the ‘Hammer drops…

The new year brought with it a great idea from the estimable Charles Krauthammer.

Insurance companies will lose big time with the Obamacare implementation, until such time as the right mix of healthy enrollees can cover those less healthy. Could be years.

Democrats knew this when they wrote the law, and built in taxpayer bailout set-asides.

The ‘Hammer’s point…

…”Americans hate fat-cat bailouts of any kind”…especially for insurance companies.

The point of Mr. Krauthammer’s article: introduce a bill negating the taxpayer-funded bailouts, which would prompt insurance companies to pull back from O’care, killing it.

BlueCollar thinks the point of Obamacare is to destroy private insurance companies, so the idea that insurance companies would fail, causing O’care to fail, is questionable.

But, the idea has merit based on its political impact, in a mid-term election year.

Mr. Krauthammer touched on this successfully…such a GOP ‘repeal bailouts’ bill would spotlight Democrats who now must spend the year defending a disastrous O’care bill.

It puts Democrats in a position of supporting fat-cat bailouts, or bleeding Obamacare.

It also creates a useful model of how to bring the fight to Democrats in a way that casts the GOP in the role of standing up for the little guy…on a wide range of issues.

Our question…why stop at attaching anti-insurer-bailout legislation to debt ceiling bills?

Why not attach anti-insurer-bailout legislation to the looming budget appropriation bills, and (sensible) minimum wage bills to offset costs for unpalatable Democrat plans?

Attach it to every Democrat platform ‘class-warfare’ issue they’ll bring up between now and Nov elections – make them choose between constituents…or insurer bailouts.

We hope the Republican leadership is listening.
