Democrats seeking a bumper-sticker…we suggest “Obama Lied, Veterans Died”

The DNC just sent out an email asking for votes on election-year bumper stickers.

BlueCollar suggests “Obama Lied, Veterans Died”.

Liberals may want to restrain their impulse to scream objections and hurl insults.

Consider this…

2007. With an eye on the presidency: “A proud and grateful nation owes more than ceremonial gestures and kind words,” Obama said in remarks to the VFW national convention in August 2007. “Caring for those who serve and for their families is a fundamental responsibility of the commander-in-chief.”

“…MORE than ceremonial gestures and kind words.” But it’s all he has.

“Caring for those who serve…is a FUNDAMENTAL responsibility of the commander-in-chief.” That man nailed it in one – he’s a fundamental failure – by his own standards.

Obama Lied, Veterans Died

Just sayin’…

The institutional idiocy of a Constitutional scholar

Obama’s perpetual campaign has one foundational complaint

…the Constitution’s structural design of Congress (i.e., giving 2 Senate seats to each state regardless of size) makes it hard to help Democrat policy ‘break through’.

Shouldn’t a constitutional scholar know better?

After all, if Democrat policy was good for all, shouldn’t that be easy to sell?

And if it doesn’t, wasn’t the Constitution’s ‘institutional gridlock’ designed to prevent a tyranny of inflicting such unsellable policy on a discerning public who’ve had enough?

Think about it…Obama is complaining because the Constitution works!

Does he even care how stupid that makes him look?

Just asking…

Nancy Pelosi, fire your fact-checker…and stop the Botox…

Crazy Nan is at it again. Not surprising, she wants to blame George W Bush for the VA scandal, twisting logic and ignoring inconvenient facts to get there:

“And so, we go in a war in Afghanistan, …Iraq…we have all of these veterans. In the past five years, two million more veterans needing benefits from the VA.”

Two problems: 1) in the past 14 years, the U.S. increased VA medical spending 193%, but veterans entering the VA health program over that same period increased just 68%.

2) ABC News (link below) reports 800 WWII vets die every day…over Nancy’s 5-year reference, that’s 1,456,000. If we (sadly) consider average daily death rate of Korean and Vietnam War vets (500/day and almost 300/day), a 5-year total is 2,912,000. We have lost more ‘earlier’ war vets than Pelosi claims were added by ‘new’ wars.

And, she can’t blame it on costs in ‘time’ for serving the recent wounded…combined wounded in Iraq and Afghanistan were less than 1/10th of Vietnam surviving wounded.

Want more sobering facts about America’s veterans?

As of Sept 30, 2011 ABC News reports there were 1,981,000 living survivors of WWII.  As of today, that means 1,203,500 are still alive. And we suffered appx. 672,000 wounded survivors during WWII. Obviously, any still alive today need more care.

Anyone want to hazard a guess as to how much health care these aging vets need? We suggest quite a bit, as the youngest of them would be in their late 80’s now.

Then there’s Korean War vets (5,690,000), 103,284 wounded survivors. And Vietnam vets (8,690,000), 153,303 wounded survivors (not to mention other SE Asia vets).

Persian Gulf vets (2,295,000 – some may still be serving), 467 wounded survivors.

Afghanistan: total wounded, survived – 506 (as of June 2005)

Iraq: total wounded, survived – 13,189 (as of June 2005)

Total veterans serving in Iraq and/or Afghanistan, now receiving VA Healthcare:

711,986 (between 2002 and 2011).

So, Ms. Pelosi, cut back on Botox (it’s supposed to block nerve signals to muscles, not the brain)…and hire a new fact-checker. As House Minority Leader, you embarrass yourself, and add to an already low opinion of Congress.

You can try blaming George W. Bush if you want…a certain amount of your Left-wing nut jobs will buy it, whenever he’s branded a villain…but the numbers belie your claim.

How can ‘new war’ veterans be overloading the system, when VA spending increased 193%, but the number of new vets in the system during that time only increased 68%?

Plus (with less than due respect), there’s a couple other items you’ve ‘missed’.

First, we would be willing to bet those veterans with the most life-threatening issues are probably from the WWII, Korea, and Vietnam wars, not Iraq or Afghanistan wars.

Second, and most importantly, those VA fabricated waiting lists weren’t falsified out of a desperate attempt by administrators to improve conditions and save lives of veterans…

…they were falsified to collect undeserved bonus checks (and veterans be damned).

We suggest those last few shots of Botox may have seriously affected your judgment.

If you’re a veteran, why not check into the Phoenix VA…

…we hear the service is great.

(UPDATE) Contrary to Obama’s assertion, the VA has attributed deaths to wait times

A headline from USA Today puts the lie to ‘no deaths caused by wait times’.

“VA: Delayed treatment led to cancer deaths”

But, at a Wednesday press conference, Obama made that ‘no wait-time deaths’ claim.

Obama responded to an AP question: “…the IG (VA Inspector General) indicated that he did not see a link between the wait and them (veterans) actually dying.”

Looks like he’s saying the VA doesn’t know what the VA is doing…

Which begs the question: Why is he letting them investigate themselves?

And Rush Limbaugh may have hit the nail on the head during his Monday show:

“You Must Make This Clear to People: This Veterans Hospital Death Panel Is a Preview of Life Under Obamacare.”

His point? The VA scandal shows the government cannot run a healthcare system effectively. If these VA wait-time cover-ups were revealed before Obamacare was passed, the citizen uproar would have derailed that Democrat legislation a-s-a-p.

So, they sat on the problem. But now, as the true incompetence of government-run health care unravels, it may cause Democrat Senate losses in November elections.

Now, the House reveals dozens of VA reform bills are stalled in the Democrat Senate.

What else can Democrats do, but send their Liar-in-Chief out one more time…

…to tell 1 more lie.

Lie to ’em, Mr. President…after all, they’ve been willing to swallow your lies before.

A ‘Hail Mary’, if you will. (Or, in this case…a ‘Hail Barack’.)

So, if you’re a Democrat, go ahead – swallow his latest lie, if you must.

We just ask this: if on Wednesday, Barack Obama said ‘a veterans (ability) to access benefits is not a new issue‘; ‘caring for our veterans is not an issue that just popped up‘; ‘I was working on (these issues) when I was running for the U.S. Senate (2006)’…

…how is it – at that same press conference – he also wants us to believe his implication that he’s just now hearing of VA ‘misconduct’ (we believe criminal) allegations?

Early in his press conference, he refers to ‘a sacred trust to all who have served’. At the end of his prepared remarks, he refers to the delivery of care and benefits (to veterans) and how he feels a ‘sacred duty’ to maintain that commitment.

Is it possible Obama’s thesaurus defines ‘sacred’ as… ‘put it off for 5 years’?

Methinks Obama doeth protest too…little…

It didn’t take Liberals long to angrily protest our blog over Obama’s disdain of veterans.

Reader Bob H’s comments were particularly nasty, ending with the insight that Obama spent well over 30 minutes addressing the VA issue (not counting press Q-&-A).

(We ‘spammed’ Bob’s unnecessarily vicious comment, but can address its context.)

Well, no, Bob, he didn’t spend 30 minutes addressing it.

The word count on his prepared remarks go a little over 1350 words… but only 100 specifically (?) addressed anything about what is, hopefully, being done…and we are being generous: we even counted vague promises to fix “whatever is wrong”.

(“Whatever”? Really?)

The balance of his remarks were all spin and propaganda, in places contradictorily noting his “when I came to office” approach to ‘systemically’ fixing the problem…while in another area he indicates he’s only just recently become aware of its existence.

Uuhhh, Bob…he ‘came into office’ in Jan 2009. By our count, that’s over 5 years ago.

His paragraph on damage control (warning not to use this issue as a political football) actually word-counted at 102…compared to his 100 words on what’s being done to uncover and eliminate (criminally illegal) behavior by government workers at the VA.

He spent more time in this press conference trying to inoculate himself and election-vulnerable Democrats, than he did discussing how he’s stopping deadly misbehavior!

If that’s not disdain for veterans, we don’t know what is.

(But then, we suspect you already know that…)

If you don’t like those ‘word-count facts’, Bob…blame it on MS Word.

How does Obama disdain veterans? Let us count the ways…

BlueCollar predicted VA secretary Shinseki would be fired for his inept performance.

A timeline wasn’t noted in the blog; we expected it to happen Wednesday. But we were wrong…Obama came out praising Shinseki, despite his 5 years of inept service.

We underestimated how deeply this president holds America’s veterans in disdain.

Reading through Obama’s prepared Wednesday remarks, though, it’s obvious that this VA scandal is being given the classic Obama treatment, with typical media assistance.

1 – He inserts how much he cares, how honored he is to be commander-in-chief, his searing moments visiting wounded warriors, and, most importantly, invokes America’s duty to uphold its “sacred trust to all who have served”…then, hypocritically…

2 – Obama ignores the 5 years he had to address the wait-time problem. His 2008 transition team were given results of audits revealing wide-spread fraudulent data;

3 – He lies about his malfeasance, implying he only just now heard of the problem (see note 6, below for confirmation of this point);

4 – He lies about not standing for it, not tolerating it, as commander-in-chief and as an American… but he has been ‘standing for it’ and ‘tolerating it‘ …since January 2009;

5 – He advises he was just updated on Shinseki’s review, but then says he expects ‘preliminary results’ of that review ‘next week’, and blithely moves on to a next point without detailing what the ‘review update’ was…at all;

6 – He points out the problem has been faced for decades, compounded by the last decade of war, and then, incredibly, admits when he came into office he had promised his team would systematically work to fix the problem…even though only moments before implying he had just heard of it, and wouldn’t stand for it, or tolerate it;

7 – Obama then tries to inoculate himself and his Democrat cohort in this pre-election season by stating “It’s important our veterans don’t become another political football”. He knows the issue is huge, and desperately wants to cauterize the situation by turning it into a ‘politics as usual’ ploy by Republicans, rather than the life-&-death issue it is.

8 – He deflects from a wide-spread mismanagement issue by citing a “larger mission… bringing the VA system into the 21st century”, hoping that everyone will miss the 800-lb gorilla in the room…the present ‘system’ doesn’t advocate falsifying wait times!

Waiting-list veterans suffering and dying met that unnecessary misery at the hands of callous, bonus-hungry humans…that no amount of 21st century updates will fix.

9 – He cites making “…progress over the last 5 years”, talks of “historic investments in our veterans”, yet fails to recognize that, though VA medical spending over the last 14 years has increased 193%, the number of veterans served in that same time rose 68%.

10 – Obama closes by recapping ‘achievements’ of spending, expanding coverage, reducing claims backlogs, reducing homelessness, etc, etc, as if somehow those were the issues in question, but the issue is VA medical treatment…and mistreatment.

We emphasize: Obama delivered PREPARED remarks.

His remarks did nothing to address the (in some instances) fatal MEDICAL issue of falsified waiting lists, that caused suffering and death of our American veterans.

The only thing HIS remarks focused on was political damage control, to veil the lost 5 years when Obama, and his Democrat cohort, could have done something…

…but didn’t.

Shinseki may be breathing easier, but should be looking over his shoulder. Democrats up for election this year will not let him affect their chances.

Yesterday’s press conference was Classic Obama…say nothing, while shedding tears.

And, when it comes to crocodile tears…

…the Walrus of Looking Glass fame has nothing on Barack Obama.

VA scandal prediction: Shinseki will be thrown under the bus, Obama will claim no knowledge

VA Secretary Shinseki meets with ‘I-know-nothing’ Sgt Schultz Obama this morning.

BCP prediction: Shinseki’s going under the bus, and President ‘I-heard-about-it-on-TV’ will claim no knowledge of how bad the problem was, or how poorly it was handled.

We’re surprised Obama’s cabinet Secretaries aren’t being accused of racism by a mainstream media whose total existence seems to be for the purpose of shielding what can arguably be described as the most USELESS president this nation has ever had. .

After all, what other possible reason could there be for these high-level appointees not keeping their dear leader informed on the pressing issues of the day?

It’s just another ‘hey, the buck stops somewhere else‘ Obama moment.

One more prediction…Obama will make it very clear problems started on W.’s watch.

Compared to Obama, Hogan’s Heroes Sgt Schultz is ‘Mr. Accountability’.

How many Obama & Company relatives are veterans waiting for proper treatment at VA hospitals?

Newly-elected Obama and his team were told of serious VA problems in 2008.

They’ve had almost 6 years to handle the problems, yet appear to have done nothing.

Now under fire, Obama’s press flack Jay Carney says “The investigation needs to continue and needs to be completed, and then we can assess what the facts are.”

Which leads us to the question to be asked of this Obama administration…

…how many of THEIR relatives are ailing veterans, waiting for this ‘investigation’?

America’s ailing veterans deserved its completion in 2009…

…surely, in 2010…

…most certainly, by 2011…

…absurd to suggest, but at least by 2012…

…and yet, here we are…2014…and still waiting for an investigation completion.

How many Obama-administration relatives have been abused this badly?

How many more years, before Obama and his henchmen can ‘assess’ the facts?

Here’s an idea…

As of March 2014, Obama had played 164 rounds of golf…averaging 33 rounds/year.

To show his veteran support, BCP challenges Obama (who’s ‘mad as hell’ about this scandal) to vow not to play a round of golf until this VA investigation is completed.

Dare we suggest that investigation will then be wrapped up…quickly?

So, if it weren’t for TV, Obama wouldn’t know anything…?

ONCE AGAIN, Obama’s team is saying he had no clue (this time, over VA problems).

He, like everyone else in America, learned about it from TV reporting.

From Obamacare failures to Fast-&-Furious, from Secret Service imbroglios to IRS intimidation tactics, it appears America elected a clueless neophyte as its leader.

He won’t even attend intel briefings…too busy golfing – when he’s not campaigning.

(So, during the bin Laden kill, Obama’s appearance in the Situation Room couldn’t have been orchestrated…’cuz he wouldn’t have known what was happening!

We can see how it went down now…

Back from a round of golf, Obama was found hunting a hoagie and Marlboro. Stumbling into what he thought was the kitchen, he ended up in the Situation Room…and a White House flack thought ‘gee, good idea to get a photo, looking like he’s in charge.’)

Evidently, White House cabinet meetings are just used for scheduling tee times. And the NSA snooping through Americans’ emails only violated innocent citizens’ privacy.

But, since we know he only learns about America’s issues on TV, here’s a suggestion…

Maybe folks at CNN could run a show on how Obama can put the NSA to good use, by snooping out bonus-hungry VA worker emails that reveal abuses.

THEN he might learn how those pesky cabinet-level Secretaries could help him.

Our veterans will finally get the care they need…and deserve.

Of course, it all hinges on if he behaves…and Michelle allows him TV privileges…
