The FIRST duty of an American President is to protect its citizens

The first responsibility of a President, as defined by the Constitution: “…shall be commander in chief of the Army and Navy of the United States…” (Art.II, sect. 2)

A military, by definition, serves to protect Americans…and America.

Those who complain of his immigration actions would be well advised to read up.

Then, shut up…

…or contribute to an honest dialogue.

(But then, rarely is the word ‘honest’ found in company with the Left.)

2 GOP senators who won’t back Ed Dept pick coerced by…teachers unions?

Reported: the two GOP Senators who say they’ll vote against DeVos for President Trump’s Education Department leadership position are in thrall with teachers unions.

(There are 52 GOP senators…and 51 votes are needed to get her confirmed.)

Guess it just takes a few bucks to pocket some people. So much for loyalty to Republican principles – Maine and Alaska constituents must be so proud…

Fortunately, in the case of a 50-50 tie, VP Pence casts the tiebreaker vote.

Murkowski was just re-elected, so Alaskan Republicans will have to wait a long time to plot their primary revenge. Speculation is Collins wants to run for Gov in 2018.

Time will tell if their desertion from Republican values will come back to haunt them.

Democrats who promised nuke option for their pick warn against nuke option for GOP pick

When outgoing Senator Reid thought Hillary was a shoe-in to win the presidential election, he said (in October)  a Democrat-taken Senate would invoke the ‘nuclear option’ in order to get Mrs. Clinton’s expected Supreme Court nominee installed.

(The ‘nuclear option’ drops the need from a 60-vote super majority, to 51 votes.)

Fast-forward to present day…now Minority Leader Schumer warns against the use of a ‘nuclear option’ by the Republican-held Senate, to install Mr. Trump’s pick.

My…how perspectives change.

Republicans would be well-advised to play hardball, just like their opponents.

Because you can bet this President will.

GOP Congress that failed to fulfill promises…asks President to stop fulfilling promises

This is rich: Congress doesn’t want Trump to act without them.

“We have a specific agenda which we have laid out and which we think the American people are asking us to get busy with.” (Senator Thune, R-SD)

Right…like they did after winning back the House in 2010?

Or, after winning back the Senate in 2014?

For several years, they’ve promised big action, and delivered…NOTHING.

Oh…wait…they did keep working on efforts…to get re-elected.

We guess that should count for something.

It might be wise for Republicans in Congress to think about what just happened in November: their re-elections were expected…Mr. Trump’s election was E-P-I-C.

Message to GOP – read over President Trump’s campaign promises…

…then get on board and support him for all you’re worth…

…or get left at the station.

Americans are no longer in the mood for your historic version of ‘get busy’.

A modest proposal to end political posturing

The endless political-trolling for donor dollars means an endless knee-jerk posturing by the elected politician, panting for the next issue that will open donor wallets.

Why not pass a law that stops such antics, by allowing dollar-trolling by politicians no sooner than 6 months before scheduled elections?

Then maybe there will be less useless rhetoric and more serious work.

Just wonderin’…
