Nothing wrong with a big field of GOP presidential hopefuls for 2016

Professional hand-wringers spend too much time worrying about a big group.

There are a great deal of right-minded folks who can help this country shake off the effects of bad policy over the last 6-8 years, and the more ideas the better.

Candidates should approach the opportunity by competing with ideas, not mudslinging.

Leave that to the other guys.

Any LIE will do…

Summarizing the Democrat strategy in 4 words…

…any.lie.will.do.

Shovel-ready jobs…lie.

Keepable health plans…lie.

Taxing businesses instead of citizens…lie.

Al-Qaeda is on the runlie.

Whether domestic or foreign policy, lies are their plan du jour, and the reason why is obvious…because they would never get elected telling the truth to their constituents.

Would you vote for someone who told you 1) the economic stimulus will funnel your tax dollars to big campaign donors; 2) your health plans and doctors will be lost; 3) taxing businesses will raise cost of your products and services; 4) radical Islamic movement is on the rise…because of the policies they want to pass?

Yeah, yeah, that’s what we need to fight terrorism…another Obama meeting

We can relax, everybody…Obama’s called a meeting on fighting extremism.

Can’t wait to see who’s invited…but some past history might provide a clue.

Since he’s used Al Sharpton and Rev. Wright as ‘anti-racism’ advisers, we can only surmise he’ll bring in leaders of al-Qaeda and ISIS for guest speakers on anti-terrorism.

WAPO columnist reveals the depths of anti-gun stupidity

Gun-free zone France just had 12 citizens murdered by gun-toting terrorists.

Even the first police responding were unarmed…thus, became fatalities as well.

But WaPo’s Eugene Robinson thinks it would be worse in Gun-Rights America?

If terror strikes happen here, we’re betting it won’t start in Arizona or Wyoming, but more likely heavily anti-gun ownership states like California, New York, or Connecticut.

On wrongheaded federal gas-tax ideas, Kudlow & IBD channel BlueCollar…

Larry Kudlow is also against raising the federal gas-diesel tax, while raising great points on the misuse and abuse of a Highway Trust Fund…that’s anything but ‘trust’worthy.

Likewise Investor’s Business Daily, calling it ‘…a truly awful idea’.

We appreciate their thoughtful perspective.

BCP’s post kept the argument against Dr. Krauthammer’s federal gas-tax hike brief.

Adding another salient point to our previous post here, what of the unemployed millions and retired Americans, who fall outside the ‘Hammer’s’ protective (non)Neutral Zone?

Republicans weren’t just given Senate control to further enlarge the government.

Big-government establishment Republicans better start thinking about 2016 elections.

The HUGE problem with Dr. Charles Krauthammer’s ‘neutral’ gas tax proposal

There’s a HUGE problem with Dr. Charles Krauthammer’s ‘neutral’ gas tax proposal

…it ISN’T revenue neutral.

The ‘Hammer’ proposes adding a $1-per-gallon federal gas tax at the pump. He posits that the ‘average’ weekly consumption of fuel is 12 gallons per American, so suggests making it revenue neutral by dropping the Social Security tax by $12 weekly per worker.

First, what happens to those who use MORE than 12 gallons per week? Screwed.

Second (and much more important), what about the extra fuel costs that industry gets hit with to transport their goods to market? Industry has to raise prices to cover them, and the consumer gets hit with higher costs on EVERYTHING they consume.

$12 more in a weekly paycheck doesn’t cover the hidden effects of bad tax ideas.

BlueCollar has a great deal of respect for Dr. Krauthammer, but on this he’s wrong.

What better reason to invoke a Senate ‘nuclear’ option?

Congress needs to stop playing games with our future.

To fast-track approval of Obama nominees, last year the Democrat Senate did away with the filibuster process, neutering the only power a minority Senate body has.

(For those unfamiliar with the ‘filibuster‘, it’s a delay tactic granted the minority in a political body to prevent ‘tyranny of the majority’ on legislative process. It’s a part of the Senate’s rules…which Democrats torched to push Obama’s agenda last year.)

Getting our economy back on track is a lot more important than crony favoritism.

On that note, BCP suggests Republicans grow a pair, and invoke the same nuclear option to stop any filibustering of bills related to growing the economy, and adding jobs.

This is vital for America…

…Quit jockeying for ‘image’ position, and get the job done.
