For those who missed it, the ‘Hammer drops…

The new year brought with it a great idea from the estimable Charles Krauthammer.

Insurance companies will lose big time with the Obamacare implementation, until such time as the right mix of healthy enrollees can cover those less healthy. Could be years.

Democrats knew this when they wrote the law, and built in taxpayer bailout set-asides.

The ‘Hammer’s point…

…”Americans hate fat-cat bailouts of any kind”…especially for insurance companies.

The point of Mr. Krauthammer’s article: introduce a bill negating the taxpayer-funded bailouts, which would prompt insurance companies to pull back from O’care, killing it.

BlueCollar thinks the point of Obamacare is to destroy private insurance companies, so the idea that insurance companies would fail, causing O’care to fail, is questionable.

But, the idea has merit based on its political impact, in a mid-term election year.

Mr. Krauthammer touched on this successfully…such a GOP ‘repeal bailouts’ bill would spotlight Democrats who now must spend the year defending a disastrous O’care bill.

It puts Democrats in a position of supporting fat-cat bailouts, or bleeding Obamacare.

It also creates a useful model of how to bring the fight to Democrats in a way that casts the GOP in the role of standing up for the little guy…on a wide range of issues.

Our question…why stop at attaching anti-insurer-bailout legislation to debt ceiling bills?

Why not attach anti-insurer-bailout legislation to the looming budget appropriation bills, and (sensible) minimum wage bills to offset costs for unpalatable Democrat plans?

Attach it to every Democrat platform ‘class-warfare’ issue they’ll bring up between now and Nov elections – make them choose between constituents…or insurer bailouts.

We hope the Republican leadership is listening.

Told you…whitewashing Democrats on Benghazi failures is in full force

At the end of December, we definitively exposed a New York Times effort to begin a history rewrite for Democrats, and specifically Obama and Hillary Clinton.

Now, a prominent author and scholar provides the coup-de-grace on this issue.

To quote Andrew McCarthy…

Coherence and historical accuracy are not what the Times is after. The aim is to drag our consideration of a jihadist act of war down a rabbit hole of nitpicking over which jihadists did what. Meanwhile, the Obama administration’s derelictions before, during, and after the massacre — the matter of greatest consequence — remain studiously outside this wearying crossfire.” (emphasis added)

We couldn’t have said it better.

Does this mean the Chargers-Bengals game was a… Soap Bowl…?

Evidently, in order to make sure of maximum ad coverage, Proctor & Gamble bought up the remaining tickets for the NFL playoff game featuring the Chargers and Bengals.

It may have been good marketing policy, but it does open a debate…

…why should fans buy hyper-inflated-price playoff tickets at all, if advertisers are that desperate for viewers they’ll buy up seats to guarantee hometown TV coverage?

Besides, Major Networks could easily fake the headcount numbers in stadiums…

…after all, they’ve been faking jobless and economic numbers for Obama for 5 years!

Beware media lapdogs with a PURPOSE…

A recent article advises the government could shut down again Jan 15, despite all the media hoopla portraying a shutdown as ‘averted’ by the deal reached in December.

But that Congressional deal merely established what money would be spent.

Congress still has to pass legislation (appropriations) detailing HOW that money will be spent. Those details have created past logjams, and no doubt will this time, as well.

Thus, the potential for yet another government shutdown

Breitbart journalist Flynn ridicules the media for ‘missing’ that fact, but BCP contends they did no such thing…they deliberately portray it as an averted shutdown.

Why? Doing so puts Republicans in the position of being seen as causing yet another shutdown if they drag their heels over how the money will be spent. And in this election year, Democrats are desperate to fight over anything except Obamacare.

In war, once a battleground is chosen, successful leaders prepare that ground.

Obama’s media lapdogs are preparing the ground for election year Dems. Get ready for a tsunami of ‘war-on-women’, ‘anti-immigrant’, and ‘income-inequality’ anti-GOP stories.

Remember – there’s a huge difference between mindless lapdogs…

…and purposeful lapdogs.

The mainstream media’s purpose is focused on November 2014 midterm elections.

Now you see al-Qaeda…now you don’t…

Al-Qaeda? Where?

The New York Times kicks off pre-election whitewashing of Democrats by running a 7,000-word article denying al-Qaeda connections to the terrorist Benghazi murders.

Many begin to speculate this is about inoculating Hillary Clinton for her 2016 run at the presidency, which isn’t unreasonable, considering what hasn’t been mentioned.

The ‘no-al-Qaeda-here’ author has ties to the Clintons. He worked for two years as research assistant for another author who wrote a late-90’s Clinton inoculation piece.

No surprise, then, that history begins a re-write by removing traces of al-Qaeda from the Benghazi terror attack that killed four Americans, abandoned by Obama and his team.

Allies are a wondrous advantage for those with political aspirations…

…especially allies of a journalistic bent.

But noted experts and journalists destroy this current re-write with devastating facts.

Let the games begin.

Stand-Tall Dynasty…

God forbid an avowed Christian should state his beliefs when questioned.

Asked what he considered ‘sinful’ during a GQ interview, Duck Dynasty’s Phil Robertson answered…and selective outrage ensued.

Seems folks on the Left just hate it when people are honest.

It doesn’t look like Phil or family will back down. Good for them. He was asked a question, and responded truthfully…no one was hurt.

We suspect the resulting faux outrage has more to do with standing tall, and honesty.

(Funny, there’s no similar Liberal outrage when “if you like your health plan, you can keep it” is proven false… that lie resulted in loss of plans for millions of Americans.)

Solution to keep the cross for Mt. Soledad Veterans War Memorial…

The ACLU atheists are at it again, trying to get the cross removed from a war memorial.

It sits on public land…why not 99-yr-lease that small segment of land the cross is on?

Lease it to a private ‘preservation group’ who will keep it intact…

…then tell the busybodies at the ACLU to come back in 99 years.

(Pretty soon, they’ll be screaming to take religious denominations off dog-tags.)
