Wonder if big-hearted socialism ‘approval’ survives first contact with high-tax realities?

News a week ago on 57% of Democrats approving of socialism over capitalism may be much ado about nothing…if those polled weren’t informed of taxes needed to fund it.

According to Gallup “The question wording does not define “socialism” or “capitalism” but simply asks respondents whether their opinion of each is positive or negative.”

We also doubt respondents knew socialism’s definition: “any of various economic and political theories advocating collective or governmental ownership and administration of the means of production and distribution of goods.” Good-bye free markets.

And an analysis of costs for socialist programs (healthcare, job-guarantee, free college) would be about $42 trillion over 10 years, which means everyone’s taxes have to go up.

As with Gallup ‘question wording’ not defining socialism, they didn’t disclose this either.

If those same ‘socialist-preference’ Democrats knew they’d have to pay what could be as high as a 60% tax rate to support the preference, we’re betting on a change of heart.

(That’s one estimate how much we’d have to be taxed, to pay for their socialist utopia; but even if that was high, and it were only 40%, we believe support would collapse.)

The best way to run this poll is to qualify it with a ‘you-ok-with-high-taxes?’ caveat.

Anything else is just cheap theater.

Even then, it’s easy to mislead in a poll, when there’s no price yet to be paid. But there is one place where the rubber-hits-the-road, and that’s at election booths in November.

Republicans should lay out the real aspects of a Socialist-based agenda, hammer it home for the next few months, and then the ballot box will decide who prefers what.

Will High-Tax Reality short-circuit ‘no-skin-in-game’ bleeding hearts? Time will tell.

Americans Want Their President to Have a Little Class

Really, Mr. Cost?

We’d be willing to bet there’d be more ‘class’ in the President, if he were dealing with anything other than low-class opponents who have no problem hitting below the belt.

Americans want their opponent Parties and Free Press to have a little class, too.

Unfortunately, they’re trying to ‘mug’ a sitting President, because they lost an election.

Their methodology doing so is right out of Alinsky’s “12 Rules For Radicals” which calls for isolating a target, applying ridicule, tactic changes, and applying constant pressure.

President Trump’s supporters are tired of Republicans who won’t fight back, and while anyone should prefer a leader with dignity…they first prefer a leader willing to fight.

FINALLY, they have one, and the chattering class may sniff with derision and look down their long noses at him…but this is what happens when you mud-wrestle with the pigs.

He’s viciously attacked 24/7 by opponents, and he dares to fight back on their terms; if  doing so earns him scorn of highbrows, so be it. Trump personifies Roosevelt’s quote

Rebuttal to the Thursday ‘free press’ coordinated whining op-ed

“An Open Letter to the Colluding Press”

Sean Spicer and Tommy Hicks Jr penned a response to the coordinated op-ed whine that protests their innocence in the face of the President’s recent FakeNews tirade.

It’s well worth attention, because it not only calls out the ‘free press’ for their continual negative coverage through outright lies, unsubstantiated rumor, and coordinated non-reporting of anything positive…it also lists those positives the ‘free press’ ignores.

As they note, the accomplishments aren’t comprehensive, but it’s an impressive list…

  • Almost 4 million new jobs have been created since President Trump’s election.
  • African-American, Hispanic-American, and Asian-American unemployment rates have all recently reached the lowest levels in history.
  • Women’s unemployment rate has reached the lowest level in 65 years.
  • Veterans’ unemployment rate recently reached its lowest level in nearly 20 years.
  • The unemployment rate for Americans without high school diplomas is at the lowest level ever recorded, and the Trump administration’s new workforce initiative will deliver job-training to more than 4 million Americans.
  • Manufacturing jobs are being created at the fastest pace in over three decades.
  • Nearly half-a-million manufacturing jobs have been created since the president took office. In the month of July alone, nearly 40,000 new manufacturing jobs were added.
  • Almost 3.9 million Americans have been lifted off food stamps since President Trump’s election.
  • The president crafted the largest tax cut in a generation, which led to savings for more than 80 percent of households and pay raises and bonuses for 4 million American workers.
  • President Trump protected American taxpayers by asking Congress to rescind $15.4 billion in unused appropriations.
  • The president has hired/nominated an impressive number of women to senior positions in his administration, including the first female director of the CIA, Gina Haspel.
  • He’s appointed two Supreme Court justices, and the Senate has now confirmed 26 appellate court judges of his choosing, as well as Supreme Court Justice Neil Gorsuch.
  • He successfully negotiated the return of four American hostages in one month’s time.
  • President Trump’s Unified Agenda of Regulatory and Deregulatory Action has exceeded the 2:1 mandate, eliminating 22 job-killing regulations for every one new regulatory action.
  • President Trump signed the “Right to Try” Act to give terminally ill patients a chance to try lifesaving treatments.
  • The Department of Homeland Security arrested 796 MS-13 gang members and associates in FY 2017, an 83 percent increase from the previous year.
  • The president signed the VA Mission Act, which allows veterans who don’t live near a VA facility or can’t get an appointment in a timely manner to seek medical care from private health-care providers.
  • Signed the National Defense Authorization Act, which provides an $82 billion funding increase for the Department of Defense over the current period, including a $617 billion Pentagon budget, $22 billion for the nuclear weapons program and $69 billion for U.S. military efforts abroad, as well as new tanks, ships, and planes. The package includes a salary boost for service members, about a 2.6 percent raise—the biggest military pay raise in nearly a decade.

Being a ‘free press’ doesn’t mean free from justifiable criticism.

Stop citing ‘unnamed’ sources, show your facts, prove your point…

Asserting FBI-CIA belief in the veracity of the dirt-dossier just crashed-&-burned

John D. O’Connor’s op-ed in the Daily Caller today should give even the most die-hard Brennan-Comey-Clinton fans pause for concern, IF they care about honesty at all…

…because their FISA assertions that the dossier was valid CAN’T BE TRUE.

As Mr. O’Connor points out, the Steele dossier relied on Source D & E for details in it.

But source D & E are the same guy – Sergei Millian…someone both the CIA and FBI “…had on their watch list for years as a suspected Russian asset.” (emphasis added)

So the top offenders in the FBI-CIA FISA-gate fiasco “…knew that Millian was a source, knew he was a Russian asset and knew he was lying about any claim relating to the Trump campaign. And Steele does not cite him as a Kremlin source, but as a supposed insider in the Trump Organization and the Trump campaign.” 

Brennan, Comey, et al knew…yet kept that information off the FISA applications…

…despite a LEGAL obligation for full disclosure regarding sources on those apps.

There’s a common denominator in all the uncivil chaos out there

The volume of reporting on how our political discourse is descending into hysteria won’t be lessened anytime soon…because the 800-lb villain in the room isn’t going to let it.

That 800-lb villain – the mainstream media – FEEDS off this hysteria and chaos.

And as long as they give oxygen and voice to haters, instead of those with REAL ideas, the violent rhetoric, chaotic rioting, and personal assaults will continue…unabated.

The 800-lb villain has adopted a new logic – MAKE it bleed, so it can lead.

Calls for ‘civility’ – with that malevolent intent at play – are futile.

Benghazi…wildfires…but, hey – a fundraiser is a FUNDRAI$ER

…Brennan’s extreme political motivation to accuse a sitting President of treason and being in the pocket of foreign leaders – without an IOTA of proofjustifies that act.
