Congressional GOP – keep campaign promises, or get out of Congress

One can only hope the doomsday polling that shows voter anger is noticed in DC.

Republican voters are tired of their congressman playing small ball. It’s almost as if they think winning majority control is the end-game, rather than keeping campaign promises that got them into Congress in the first place.

We don’t know of any GOP politician whose campaign ran on ‘send me to Congress so I can sit in the driver’s seat’…we heard Obamacare and DREAMer repeal, and grow-economy or tax-reform promises…but no ‘I want power but won’t use it rhetoric.

So far, this GOP Congress is guilty of dereliction-of-duty, and, sadly, it looks like they’re in no hurry to change that any time soon. Good news is this President is a take-charge kind of guy, and will work what deals he can to get done what’s in his power to do.

There is one Tripwire that will signal Republicans have developed a will to win…getting rid of the Filibuster that requires 60 votes to pass. If the GOP forces a 51-vote simple majority to pass legislation, it could just signal they have found some backbone.

But in the meantime, President Trump is all we have.

Trump Jr just PASTED the deceitful Left/Democrats w-his Russia-meeting reasoning

Wow, these Trumps keep on swinging for the fences, don’t they?

Townhall headline: “Trump Jr. Wanted to Meet with Russian Lawyer to Obtain Info on Clinton’s ‘Fitness’ for Office”

Tell me that’s not a HUGE body-blow.

Turning the Left’s innuendo-fest against the Trump campaign team is always a praise-worthy feat, and Trump Jr’s statement to the Senate Judiciary Committee that he met with a Russian lawyer to determine the “fitness, character, or qualifications” of Hillary Clinton is right up there with the all-time great ‘back-at-ya’ moves against Democrats.

HUGE.

No surprise that the President worked a deal…he’s a businessman

Looking for all the political answers to why the President worked a deal with Democrats on a temporary debt ceiling situation is a complete waste of time…he’s not a politician.

He’s – first and foremost – a businessman, and uncertainty raises havoc with business.

Of course he cut a deal. Trump’s the epitome of ‘It’s the Economy, Stupid’.

The fact he did it with Democrats just gives him more leverage with Republicans, since 1) he’s displayed he’ll do what he has to do to get things done, 2) let’s face it, he also gave Republicans political cover, because many voters don’t like debt-ceiling hikes, and 3) the economy benefits with CERTAINTY as we voyage into a touchy holiday season.

Stop analyzing his moves through a purely political lens…he’s not a politician.

He’s something much more effective – a businessman with extreme political power.

A thoughtful argument for the DREAMer cause

Judge Andrew Napolitano’s Washington Times op-ed“Morally, most of the beneficiaries of DACA are fully Americanized young adults who know no other life but what they have here and have no roots in the countries of their births. Many are serving the U.S. in the military. Constitutionally, DACA has effectively been in place since 1986, and 800,000 people younger than 40 have planned their lives in reliance upon it. Legally, once a benefit has been given by the government and relied upon, the courts are reluctant to rescind it, even though the 5th Circuit showed no such reluctance.

Economically, the summary removal of more than three-quarters of a million people from the work force would have serious negative consequences for their employers and dependents and for delicate economic forces, and there would be negative economic consequences to the government, as well, as each claimed hardship case — each person whose deportation is ordered — is entitled to a hearing at the government’s expense.”

BlueCollar opinion? Any anger or retribution for this situation should be leveled at the politicians and leaders who created this mess, not those who find themselves living it.

…and now Obama’s AG Eric Holder demonstrates his ignorance (or deceit)…

File this under ‘YOU CAN’T MAKE THIS STUFF UP.’

We know Liberal media provides an astonishing level of deference to the Democrats, but for the Washington Post to publish Eric Holder’s blatantly dishonest opinion of the decision President Trump made to rescind Obama’s unlawful Dream Act is a new low.

To see Eric Holder’s op-ed as being disingenuous toward Americans would be too generous…we think DISRESPECT toward Americans would better describe this drivel.

Setting aside Holder’s typical, predictable effort to re-define ‘prosecutorial discretion’, his op-ed is a teachable moment on how Liberals flat-out lie and expect us to take it.

Setting ‘enforcement priorities’ may be a point worth dancing around, but to admit that his boss Obama then allowed work permits – while implying this didn’t exceed the limits of Obama’s constitutional powers – is either breathtakingly obtuse on Holder’s part…

…or he thinks Americans are that breathtakingly obtuse and will believe him.

Call us cynical, but we’re sure the latter alternative is in play. Holder, Obama, and the Washington Post et al see the law…and Americans…as theirs to toy with.

“They are not and should not be defined by their immigration status”???

If that’s not an open-borders concept…nothing is. And, oh, by the way Mr. Holder…

…just a friendly reminder….

…your boss Obama had to ‘define’ them that way…to target them for his policy.

A previous BlueCollar post pointed out that Obama-&-Co, by defending their actions, could be construed as them openly accepting totalitarian acts by future presidents…

…we wonder if Mr. Holder would be so obsequious to a Trump act of this nature?

SCARY – California’s attorney general is ignorant of Constitutional law

California’s Idiot-general…errr…attorney general: Trump rescinding DACA is ‘unlawful’ and ‘unconstitutional’, and threatens to sue the administration over that act.

(Of course, he didn’t explain ‘why’…because he can’t.)

Such is Democrat Ideology…writ large.

We’re not sure what’s worse…how scary it is to hear a state’s top lawman admit he’s constitutionally illiterate, or the frustration to know California tax-dollars will be wasted because the state’s top lawman is posturing for his future election aspirations.

(Let’s face it – California’s political demographic isn’t going to change anytime soon, so he’s not just posturing for near-term support or advantage…this is a long-game move.)

You get what you vote for…unless you’re in the political minority.

Tyranny of the Majority is alive and well in California.
