There’s a reason why it reads ‘LIFE, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness’…

As pro-Life legislators across the fruited plain draw-up the fetal heartbeat legislation that they hope will create challenge to never-voted-on Judicially Legislated ‘Roe-v-Wade’…

…we thought it appropriate timing to note the context of the Founders’ phrasing within our Declaration of Independence: “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.”

But, maybe ‘context’ isn’t the right wording sufficient to highlight their focus.

Linear priority could better capture the spirit of the Founders’ intent: ‘Life’ must be first in line, for without it there can’t be any ‘Liberty’ or ‘pursuit of Happiness’ as rights to claim.

For those who would split hairs on when Life commences, or suggest it’s not a Life until born, we wonder how any can be so obtuse as to not believe ‘conception’ is the key?

After all…without conception there is no Life.

Sadly, we acknowledge there are some that will NEVER accept such basic logic, and we also realize that there are extenuating circumstances that could justify abortion.

But regardless, Life shouldn’t be held in cheap regard.

Believing in the sanctity of Life, abortion shouldn’t be a matter of mere convenience.

And, fortunately, that belief is gender-neutral.
