Mark M. emails a YouTube video of a Tesla factory in operation, assembling cars.
The automation and efficiency on display in the video is awesome…and sends a very powerful message to those who ask why raising the minimum wage is problematic.
Every robotic function you see during the video was cost-justified by politicians raising the minimum wage to the point where automation is cheaper than human labor.
The “3000 employed” caption displayed during the presentation could very well have been 10,000…were it not for meddling (and, okay, some well-meaning) politicians.
So every time you hear a minority or low-income group complain about joblessness within their demographic, this video should be played for them, or referred to them.
Raising the minimum wage increases costs for every business…
…and there’s a robot waiting around every corner.
Consumers want affordable products; businesses comply by keeping costs down.
Nothing’s more contradictory, than demanding higher wages and affordable goods.
