Crewmen must thank God he’s no longer at sea, commanding a ship…

Nothing wins arguments like vague generalities, covered with a thick patriotic veneer.

The NY Times ran an article written by the Democrat champion of military experts, Retired Admiral McRaven, who served up eight paragraphs of patriotism before getting into the meat of the matter – slamming the President…absent any trace of specifics.

There were dark references to “…assaults on our institutions…” you know, real paragon institutions of virtue that conspired to be weaponized for election-meddling, i.e….

“…the intelligence and law enforcement community, the State Dept. and the press.”

He says “We are the most powerful nation in the world because we try to be the good guys. We are the most powerful nation in the world because our ideals of universal freedom and equality have been backed up by our belief that we were champions of justice, the protectors of the less fortunate.” Yep, that’s what good guys do, right?

McRaven seems to feel it’s fine for the CIA and FBI to task human lures like Halper and Mifsud with trying to entrap a political opponent’s campaign, and arrange to dupe them into compromising situations or inappropriate appearances…to justify surveilling?

And, he sees falsifying FISA applications as an acceptable institution process?

His good guys have a unique version of ‘ideals of universal freedom and equality’. And how ’bout those ‘champions of justice’ he holds so dear…think AG Barr will buy that?

He moans that “If our promises are meaningless, how will our allies ever trust us? If we can’t have faith in our nation’s principles, why would the men and women of this nation join the military? And if they don’t join, who will protect us? If we are not the champions of the good and the right, then who will follow us? And if no one follows us — where will the world end up?” You got the right idea Admiral…just the wrong political Party.

(‘Trusting’ allies? They’re more cynical than trusting, after witnessing our last 2 years.)

He sums up his self-serving tripe with a withering display of non-specifics, saying that the President “seems to believe…these qualities are unimportant or show weakness.”

Got that? Defending oneself from egregious, unprincipled attack is considered wrong?

If willing to be generous, we’d suggest the Admiral’s had a little too much grog lately yet, considering he’s an Obama-ite…and the activities he’s condoned…we don’t want to be.

Face it: turning a blind-eye to such criminality exposes him as a political hack.

And, hey, Admiral, with (admittedly very little) respect…

…if you can’t see the real corruption and injustice in front of you, when you deny the real unprincipled acts that have occurred, it’s easy to understand your wayward drift…

…but NOT so easy to buy your bilge.

Seriously…it’s amazing any ship this guy commanded ever made it to port.
