Fiddling while Obamacare burns down the economy

(This doesn’t change our opinion that the free-market system should be allowed to work it’s magic, but we must recognize the inevitable…lawmakers will make laws.)

All this teeth-gnashing about perfect legislation to replace Obamacare is theater.

Rule One…Obamacare is a disaster that needs to be torn down. So, do it.

Second, when was the last time Congress passed a major law that didn’t require a little (more often, major) tweaking? No law is nonamendable, or cast in concrete.

Don’t let an unobtainable ‘perfect’ become the enemy of ‘good enough’. President Trump should pull GOP lawmakers together, and get consensus on a basic model.

(Besides, ‘perfect’ is never the first thing we think of when discussing Congress.)

Adding necessary future options can be done with future legislation.

And, when in doubt…refer to ‘Rule One’ noted above.

Republicans have the better ideas, so, really, the only thing holding this up is trust in the leadership that there will be changes and additions allowed along the way.

There’s a huge difference between constructive criticism, and squabbling. Make the essential points, agree to the future options, make the necessary guarantees…

…and get ‘er done.
