First, understand this…
There is no more valuable right for an American, than that of voting.
Why? Look no further than our U.S. Constitution.
The Constitution makes that case, in the Preamble: “We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.”
We the People OF the United States…its citizens. Can’t get any plainer than that.
What can be more important for a citizen of a Nation, than to establish Justice, insure Domestic Tranquility, provide for common defense , and secure Blessings of Liberty?
Democrat, Republican, Independent…no Party can argue against those concepts.
The only way those objectives can be achieved is by voting for political representatives who will follow those principles when making law, once elected to their respective office.
That said, eroding the integrity of elections is the most vile form of treason.
Mail-in ballots erode election integrity, by inviting fraud. ‘Same-day-registration/vote’ processes invite fraud as well, without essential safeguards such as voter identification.
Every state has an ‘absentee’ process that can be followed…where the necessity for it is established, and where the identity of the voter is established, through proper checks.
There’s no legitimate reason to provide for forms of voting that violate vote integrity…
…but, there’s one huge reason not to ensure voting integrity…FRAUD.
We The People – then – ordained and established the Constitution…
…We The People – now – are responsible for its continued integrity…
…that can only be protected if the voting process is protected.
Otherwise, we’ll continue to have rampant election fraud, illegitimate officials in office, and/or unelected judges who will end up having final say in contested election results.
You’d think We The People could understand such basic consequences.
We have established Election Days. Those who can’t make it to their voting place on that day, for whatever reason, can apply for an absentee ballot so they can vote. And, last minute situations are provided for in the form of Provisional Ballot contingencies.
Any other methods are wide open to Fraud.
People aren’t stupid…but some politicians hope you are.
