Democrat leadership continue to refuse any funding for a southern border wall.

Most political pundits see this as an effort to try separating the President from his base, making his border wall promise an objective that will never get passed by Congress.

But, there are other means he can use to get border wall funding, including by declaring a national emergency, or invoking a ‘budget sweep’ that won’t require that declaration.

And, though you can bet Democrats will fight such efforts in court, that will only bind the President’s base tighter to him, and could drive national security-minded Independents and moderate Democrats – opposed to open border dangers – AWAY from that Party.

Ironically, by pandering to THEIR radical base, Democrats run a huge risk of backlash.

Yeah, yeah…they have him cornered…right where he wants them.

P.S. – those saying Trump lost the shutdown fight should explain how that’s possible, considering poll numbers remained the same, and he got huge prime time exposure.

Someone should explain to his detractors how the fine art of negotiation prep works.
