The curious suicide of the 4th Estate continues…apace

It’s one thing to find yourself in a hole…quite another thing to keep on digging.

But…FakeNews being what it is…

So, there’s this great economic news, brought on by the election of Donald Trump, and his deregulation efforts, the 2017 Republican taxcuts, and a new sense of confidence.

But in the storied tradition of printing the news they see fit to slant…errr…print…the NY Times epitomizes the desperate, suicidal trajectory of FakeNews gone bat-crap crazy… ‘though it appears there’s some truth in journalism…’cuz IBD won’t let their lies prevail.

Economic Boom: Media Rewrite History To Credit Obama Instead Of Trump

Investor’s Business Daily writes in scathing terms over the efforts of the NY Times to diminish any effect President Trump has had on the economy, seemingly oblivious to the Times’ own reporting about the abysmal state of the economy…throughout 2016.

“The New York Times itself described Obama’s economy this way in August 2016: “For three quarters in a row, the growth rate of the economy has hovered around a mere 1%. In the last quarter of 2015 and the first quarter of 2016, the economy expanded at feeble annual rates of 0.9% and 0.8%, respectively. The initial reading for the second quarter of this year, released on Friday, was a disappointing 1.2%.”

GDP growth decelerated in each of the last three quarters of 2016. And on January 27, 2017, after the government reported that GDP growth for all 2016 was a mere 1.6% — the weakest in five years — the Times announced that “President Trump’s target for economic growth just got a little more distant.” That same month, the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office forecast growth this year would be just 1.9%.” (bold, underline emphasis added)

And yet, despite that reality described in no uncertain terms, the Times prints this on Friday…“An Economic Upturn Begun Under Obama Is Now Trump’s to Tout”

??…‘upturn begun under Obama’? Do they smoke those mushrooms, or just eat ’em?

We challenge the NY Times to explain what dynamic they believe magically transforms “GDP Growth decelerated in each of the last 3 quarters”…into an ‘economic upturn’?

No doubt, they’ll print whatever dynamic is FIT TO DISTORT. But, take heart, there’s this: “Poll: Two-Thirds of Americans Give Trump Credit for Economy”

Thankfully, it seems Americans can separate truth from FakeNews reality.

This suicide mission the FakeNews media’s on is pitiful to behold…our resentment at being lied to is overwhelmed by our disgust with what mainstream media has become.
