Reading an IBD article on Russia’s treatment of Euro-nation energy customers brought into sharp relief the realization that their Euro-policy is similar to Democrat voter policy.

Russia uses energy exports as shackles to keep European nations in line…just as the Democrats use handouts and dependency programs to keep their voters in line.

President Trump wants a strong, self-reliant community of European nations as allies, and that philosophy is very similar to a Republican policy towards voters at home.

Republicans want their constituents to be strong, self-reliant.

Writ simply? Republicans teach you how to fish, so you’re independent; and Democrats want to hand out the fish – thus creating a dependency on Big Government largesse.

One philosophy creates self-reliance and strength, the other begets victim mentalities.
