As battle rages over the idiotic idea that Republicans need to ‘replace’ Obamacare once it’s repealed, every part of their plan comes under scrutiny and criticism.
(‘Idiotic’, because we believe the free-market system is the answer, not more law.)
A major flaw is the insistence on keeping ‘guaranteed issue’, which stops an insurer from refusing coverage, or charging more, for those with pre-existing conditions.
Every state that’s had its own guaranteed issue health law has seen failure, since it invites a flood of misuse and abuse in every manner and form its been written.
If our government is wedded to the idea, then it should be smart enough to write it in such a way that minimizes fraud and abuse aspects…but paying for it is key.
And therein lies the rub.
If Congress insists on such idiocy, then they should at least learn about prioritizing, as in…subsidizing health costs for Americans trumps foreign aid to Zimbabwe…
…or federal grants to fraudulent programs manipulating global-warming data.
Paying for Uncle Bob’s surgery beats throwing money down those ratholes…
…every time.
(And, please, don’t rely on the CBO that missed HUGE Obamacare failures.)
